There are three types of human walking this planet There are three different types of humans. The first is your Vampires; second is your Nils (normal people); third is your half breeds or awakened humans (your witches as a generic term for all psionic capable humans).
Vampires are in a category all of their own, see types of vampires and what vampires are not. The dictionary definiyion of the word nil is nothing. Psi-vampires are called this because of energy needs and awakened humans have a limited energy ability(they can use it but don't feed on it). This leaves the nil meaning they have no energy ability so they are your normal people. The term nil is not an insult. Nils tend to be very closed minded (like all people they don't want to believe anyone can do anything they can't). They find it very difficult to believe that vampires exist and can do things they fear to dream of so they find it hard to believe that witches and vampires exist (especially the "civilized" ones). Superstitious people tell stories of boogy man and vampires to frighten children. They forget that those stories are based on things that once were very numerous and well known but due to the inquisition and other such things have gone underground. When a nil does realize what we are they will tend to first panic and then try to explain it away as a trick or imagination or even forget it totally within a day or so, unless someone is there to remind them (how mobs were started). In the distant past we called all half breeds Juns which became Djun/Djunn and then Djinn and then genie and then witch or wizard and now adays since people take offence to the term witch the term awakened human has been coined to phrase. Today we still use the term but in reference to someone that has acquired our abilities (limited version) from massive blood transfusions. Thes Juns have one or two abilities and the disadvantages but that is as close as them come to being one of us. Warning all Juns are deceiptive and can not be totally trusted. We keep them close so we can make sure they have not joined the ranks of hunters or are trying to cause us harm on their own. Two nils can reproduce, two awakened humans can, a vampire and a nil can, a vampire and an awakened human can, but two fully awakened vampires can not (it is possible if one of the vampires in a pair is still in the latent phase when impregnation is attempted). Types of Vampires There are two types of vampires roaming the planet. There are your sanguinarians and your psi-vampires.
Sanguinarians are blood-drinkers. And unlike the myths of vampires,they do NOT go around killing people for their blood. They keep a ring of willing donors that willingly donate blood to them. They do not need great amounts of blood,just a small amount,no more than what would fill a shot glass is necessary to them. Psi-vampires feed on life/pranic energy either by proximity or by touch. When one awakens their body automatically starts feeding on the energy at hand and it could take the young vampire months to realize what they are and how to control their growing abilities. Most prefer to feed from the strong emotions of others and not from the person directly. It is safer for both the vampire and the person(not victim) being drained. It is easier to know sanguinarians than psi-vampires because you can physically see a sanguinarian drink your blood but it is harder to know a psi-vampire because you can not see them feed. Psi-vampires are responsible for the myths of incubus and succubus. Vampires falsely have a bad reputation due to myths and movies, none of which is based on fact or reality. |

What Vampires are NOT Vampires are NOT immortal and do NOT live for ever, vampires do look younger than their age and live slightly longer; however, If someone tells you they are 400 years old, they are a poser(a rpger or someone pretending to be a vampire) and lying to you.
Lifestylers who play at vampires because they think it looks cool are not vampires. Vampires do not sleep in coffins. Lifestylers dress in black wear fake fangs and some sleep in coffins and only go out at night. Posers or RPGers are not vampires, they are role players who play at being a vampire because they think it is a game and that vampires are not real. They have crossed their gaming over into the real world and play at either being a vampire or a HUNTER. Vampires are not undead walking corpses. Vampires do tend to be aloof because they feel emotionally dead. We prefer to sit back and watch because things are not of importance to us. Vampires are not inherently evil. It is true that most vampires are not exactly christian but we do try to help others. Just because we must feed from others doesn't mean we were sent by satan or go against nature or god any more than the symbiosis relationship between the shark and the lamrey eel makes the lamprey evil. The eel attaches itself to the shark and feeds on barnacles that try to attach to the shark and leftovers from the sharks meal and in return the shark carries them from place to place. Vampires are not superhuman, subhuman, or alien. We are human, we simply adapted to our surroundings differently than the normal humans did. Vampires are not shape shifters. A few of us can assume the form of an animal when we are astral projecting but that is not the same as physically changing form. Vampires do not go up in flames when in direct sunlight. Because we do tend to be nocturnal our eyes are sensitive to sunlight so we don't go out much during the day by choice. |

I have an ancient Egyptian Vampire Myth on my ancient myths page. When we arrived in Egypt our affinity for cats, our cat-like appearance and actions, our light sensitivity and strong mental abilites (majick/magick) made the Egyptians believe we where the hi-priests and priestesses of the gods. Yet again our arrogance was our down fall. When Amhenhotep IV was killed by his uncle in 1379 BC, his son Tuthankaton turned away from the worship of the one god, Ra, and all of the "priests" fled to prevent their deaths. Many of these wound up in Ireland (which is where you get the kilt from according to some beliefs) and Russia. When we fled, humans had begun to migrate(like the gypsies) and formed trade routes which not only spread art and culture and myths of our kind but it also spread disease to people who had no immunity to such diseases and created plagues. Blood became tainted with things similar to AIDS. When the blood supply became tainted we had one of three choices (same as Irish had during potato famine). 1 migrate, 2 die of starvation, 3 find a new food source. This is why there are some vampires who still drink blood and some who feed on energy directly, without going through the blood to get it. This is happening again with the outbreak of aids/HIV and other such diseases so many sanguinarians are beginning to become either both types of vampire or totally turning over to psi-vampire and/or are getting in a relationship with a psi-vampire. They can feed on each other with no harm done for extended periods. Psi-Vampires are not higher evolved than sanguinarians, we just adapted to our environment differently than they did. Where sanguinarians moved to find safer blood we moved away from blood and straight to pranic energy. Those that did not move to places that allowed anyone to enter freely found other ways to enter countries with-out question. They joined the aryans, mongols, the golden horde, the moors, the crusades, the gypsies, wandering minstrels and teachers of foreign cultures to the young members of various royal families. There is at least one war every generation(20 years) and there is always a skirmish somewhere in the world. All vampires had to do was join the front lines. Who would notice an extra body here or there and besides most of us helped those that were dying in great pain on the fields to pass quickly and with as little pain as possible onto the other side. The British actually made a treaty with the Irish to keep the Irish women (we are 75% female by the way) off of the battle fields because where the men left their wounded enemies on the fields the women were known to kill the dying and seriously wounded (I guess we weren't discrete enough). The world has become so small due to technology that it has become harder for us to go from place to place, to disappear or start over without someone asking for references or our history. We can no longer just disappear under some rock to hide. Therefore it would be very, very stupid of any vampire to kill or attract attention to our kind. Our greatest strength and defense is that no one believes we are real. We intend to keep it that way! |
